In addition to the fact that the number of e-mail attacks globally increased sharply in 2020, employees also clicked on three times as many malicious e-mails as in 2019, according to the IT security company Mimecast.

 The number of e-mail-based IT attacks increased globally by as much as 64 percent in 2020, compared with 2019. This is shown by the IT security company Mimecast's annual survey State of Email Security 2021.
